GLENDA DEMATTY MS, LMHC, NCC, CCTS-I, CIMHP
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) for Washington and National Board Certified Counselor (NCC). I received my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. I have been working in social services work, behavioral and mental health, and wellness for 10 years. My counseling experience is in both private practice and in community mental health. As a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist (CCTS-I), I specialize in helping individuals with PTSD and trauma related issues.
I believe wellness requires balance in mind and body. I use a holistic approach for tending to the various aspects of our lives, including our thoughts and feelings, relationships with self and others, and physical and emotional health. We work together to determine what approach works best for you, including engaging with specialized trauma therapy, with skills training for regulating emotions and tolerating distress, and with traditional person-centered counseling. I specialize in trauma-informed and integrative approaches for wellness, including EMDR.
The therapeutic relationship is essential to the success of therapy. My aim is to provide a space for openness, awareness, and growth—a place where all are welcome. My practice is sex-positive and affirming of all gender identities, sexual orientations, and relationship models.
